Many people are familiar with disposable paper cups, because they are often used in life. Some commonly small paper cup sizes are generally 4oz paper cups and 5oz paper cups. In fact, most people have no idea what disposable paper cups are made of. Hyde company has more than ten years of experience in the paper cup industry. Today, we would like to share with you the making materials of paper cups. Most of the paper cups now used, the outside is a layer of paper, the inside is a layer of coated paper, is a polyethylene plastic film. Although the outer layer is paper, but the food is in contact with the inner layer of plastic film, so this cup is defined as a single layer of paper cup.

The making materials of 4oz paper cups
Film material: PP(can withstand high temperature 170-180 degree centigrade), PE(can withstand high temperature more than 130degree centigrade), PLA(the latest renewable corn starch extract, easy to degrade and safer)。
  1. Polyethylene (PE) : excellent low temperature resistance (the lowest operating temperature can reach minus 100~-70 degree centigrade), good chemical stability, resistance to most acid and alkali erosion, insoluble in general solvents at room temperature, small water absorption, excellent electrical insulation. The biggest advantage of polyethylene is waterproof, high strength, aging resistance, excellent performance of synthetic polymer fiber, is a non-toxic, pollution-free green environmental protection products.
  2. Polypropylene (PP) has good heat resistance, products can be more than 100degree centigrade temperature sterilization, under the condition of not external force, 150degree centigrade deformation. Embrittlement temperature of minus 35 degree centigrade, below minus 35 degree centigrade will occur embrittlement, cold resistance is not as good as polyethylene. PP is the biggest advantage of non-toxic, tasteless, small density. Its strength, stiffness, hardness and heat resistance are better than general PE, its melting point can be up to 175 degree centigrade. So PP film products can be placed in the microwave oven heating.
PLA, also known as polylactide, belongs to the polyester family. Polylactic acid is a polymer obtained from the polymerization of lactic acid as the main raw material. The raw material source is sufficient and can be regenerated, mainly with corn, cassava and other raw materials. The production process of polylactic acid is pollution-free, and the product can be biodegradable and recycled in nature, so it is the most ideal green polymer material.

  The advantages of them
  A. nervous: good thermal stability, processing temperature 170 ~ 230degree nervous, good solvent resistance, can be used in a variety of processing methods, such as extrusion, spinning, biaxial drawing, injection blow molding. In addition to biodegradation, the products made from polylactic acid have good biocompatibility, glossiness, transparency, feel and heat resistance, as well as certain bacteria resistance, flame retardant and uv resistance. Therefore, they are widely used and can be used as packaging materials.
Paper cups come in a variety of sizes, shapes and colors, each basic and printed from a trusted manufacturer. As they are light in weight, they can be carried easily. They are designed to enable the end user to comfortably hold the cup and enjoy the drink or beverage in the cup. One of the biggest benefits of using these cups is that they are disposable, reducing the risk of infection. Plus, you can avoid the tedious chore of rinsing, which is a fantastic benefit for food service stations looking to save time and cash. By definition, the main component of any paper cup is paper, and it's easy to forget that cellulose fibers, the single fiber used to produce a piece of paper or cardboard, are probably one of the earliest and most abundant biopolymer in the world. Modern paper and board companies comply with sustainable forest guidelines by planting at least one replacement tree for every tree cut down. In this way, cellulose, the main ingredient in disposable cups, comes from renewable sources.

The function of paper cup film is its water retention performance, so that the paper cup does not leak or deform when it is used as a liquid container of cold, hot and temperature. Therefore, after understanding the high temperature melting point and low temperature embrittlement point of three kinds of film material, we know that it can bring convenience to our healthy life in what kind of environment. Hyde covers all sizes and types of paper cups, including 4oz paper cups and 5oz paper cups, and also offers custom paper cups, so we can be your long-term partner.
